PADI Open Water Diver course – You decided to take a part in the PADI Open Water Diver course. Maybe you already tried the PADI Discover Scuba Diving program or maybe it’ll be your first contact with scuba equipment. You are probably very excited! It’s good because scuba diving is awesome and very safe sport. If you feel uncertain about all diving skills which you’ll have to do, don’t worry! Good diving instructor know how to show you the beauty of underwater world. OK so what you’ll learn on diving course?
PADI Open Water Diver – Theory
Diving is easy and very entertaining but first you have to know some basics. That’s why first you’ll see few videos about diving theory. After each video you’ll do a knowledge review and at the end you’ll write the final exam. It’s look like a lot of knowledge? Don’t worry! Your instructor will be always there for you and he’ll help you with any doubts.
PADI Open Water Diver – Pool session
After theory we’ll go to the pool. On the pool session you’ll learn how to use your scuba unit and it’ll be your first contact with breathing underwater! You’ll see that is using diving equipment is easy and comfortable. In this part of your training you’ll do some skills like clearing your mask underwater, proper method to set your buoyancy or how to use your fins.
Open water dives 1+2
Finally! You’ll take all your theory knowledge and skills after the pool session and we’ll go diving. In first day we’ll do a two dives. First dive will not be deeper than 12m. Of course your instructor will be always with you and he’ll respond to any doubts. You’ll do few skills underwater and on the surface as well. All those skills you already know from the pool session, so it’ll be very easy.
Open water dives 3+4
On the next day we’ll do another two dives. On third dive we’ll reach your maximum allowed depth – 18m. Last dive is fun dive which you’ll plan and conduct with your buddy under the instructor supervision.
Congratulations! You are a new PADI Open Water Diver!
After those four dives you’ll become the Open Water Diver. Of course it’s only a beginning your big diving adventure. Now you can take a part on PADI Advanced Open Water Diver course and extend your depth limit to 30m. Maybe you’ll find your love in wrecks penetration or diving with Diver Propulsion Vehicles. Then you can take a part in diving specialization courses.
